Abilene Store Opening Celebrated by local community in many ways…
On June 4th, 2009 Stripes was proud to celebrate three new store grand openings in Abilene. The Stripes stores being welcomed into the Stripes family were: #252, #2250, and #275. With the help of Store Manager Will Smith Jr. (#275), the festivities kicked off bright and early at 6 a.m. by providing free tacos to everyone from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.

The celebration continued at Store #2250, where Store Manager Russell Boyd gave out free 20 oz fountain drinks from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. Then it was off to free hot dogs, chips, and coca-cola combos for the customers at the new store # 252, thanks to the great work done by Store Manager Mickey Ehl.
A special thanks and congratulations goes out to Area and Division Managers, Chris Tyler and Kathy Maberry, whom made this eventful day worth celebrating!

In this new community of Abilene, Stripes wanted to let its population know that they don’t just view them as new customers, but as new neighbors. To demonstrate Stripes strong commitment to its new neighbors, the company picked out a local charity called the Abilene Food Bank’s Kids Café and donated all the net proceeds from taco sales from June 4th to June 7th.

A check presentation for this donation of $1,000 was presented by managers and store associates to the Kids Café location at Fannin Elementary.
