A Hole in One for Stripes Golf and Fishing Tournament!

Corpus Christi, TX - Stripes and the Islander Athletics Department of Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi joined forces on Friday, September 27th - 28th, 2007 to present their 9th Annual Golf and Fishing Tournament. It was a fun occasion where Islander supporters could gather a round of friends to putt and drive for a great cause. By simply enjoying an eventful dinner and a round of golf or guided fishing tour, participants would help young athletes continue to receive the highest quality education.
The Athletic Department relies solely on contributions and fees to support their programs; consequently, they need the support of companies such as Stripes to reach their fundraising goals. As a result, Stripes is proud to announce that the event was a great success raising a grand total of over $370,000 benefiting Islander Athletics.
The event, sponsored by Stripes and many other corporate contributions, started with a participant appreciation dinner on Thursday, September 27th at the American Bank Center. Guests enjoyed many amenities including a delicious dinner, silent auction, entertainment by TAMU-CC cheerleaders and their mascot Izzy, a Jeep raffle, and an energetic live auction with exceptional items.
The fishing tournament kicked off on Friday, September 28th with boats leaving at 6 am from the COS Way Marina near the JFK Causeway Bridge. Consecutively, the golf scramble began with a 7:30 am tee time at the Corpus Christi Country Club. The scramble consisted of a morning and afternoon round allowing maximum participation and pleasurable playing speed. Players were also treated to a luncheon preceding tournament play, and an Awards Party at the conclusion of the tournament.
Stripes and Islander Athletics appreciate the support from the different corporate sponsors as well as all the volunteers who worked hard to make this event happen. All donations are appreciated, and we all look forward to next year’s event.
Until then… Fore!!!!!!!!
