Operation Paintbrush
Stripes team members should be experts at home improvement by now. After all, Operation Paintbrush, a national effort to improve the homes of low-income or handicapped elderly citizens, has been a long standing yearly project for Stripes. Every year, Stripes volunteers give up a Saturday to hammer boards, scrape siding, and roll on a new coat of paint for the homes of a few citizens in need. More than 50 Stripes participants arrived to assist Operation Paintbrush in 2009. That’s not counting the Stripes maintenance crew who set-up and prepped the site before painters arrived. A few more appreciative and deserving families were helped this year by another successful, Stripes sponsored, Operation Paintbrush event.
