Here at Stripes, we are proud to say that we LIVE UNITED.  We understand that to nurture long-lasting beneficial changes in the communities where we work, play, and live, you have to support and address the underlying causes of the challenges faced by our friends, families, and neighbors.   This is why United Way was selected as the 2008 beneficiary for the Stripes Turf + Surf Golf and Fishing Tournament.

United Way’s mission is “improving lives by mobilizing the caring power of community” and through this organization Stripes is able to more fully realize its charitable focus of benefiting children’s healthcare and education programs in the local communities in which our stores belong.

We are proud to announce that the total fundraising amount for the 2008 Stripes Golf benefiting United Way is $312,618.00. The funds are now being dispersed across the differing communities, based on store amount per location.   

On Tuesday, May 2nd Stripes Store #227 proudly presented their local chapter of the United Way a check of $550 from the funds raised during the Golf Tournament. These store funds will be used to in the local community to aid in furthering early childhood education.
